Othello at Ancient Kourion – July 9, 10 & 11 2026

Join us this July 9, 10 & 11 to enjoy a staging of one of Shakespeare's most psychologically gripping tragedies. Othello comes to Kourion, bringing Shakespeare's work home to Cyprus.

Set in Venice and Cyprus, Othello tells the tale of a respected Moorish general whose marriage and life are destroyed in the most calculating way by the scheming Iago. Passed over for promotion, Iago sets out to convince Othello that his wife Desdemona has been unfaithful, driving him to question everything he once held to be true.

The consequences of Iago's jealousy and manipulation reach far beyond his intended target, drawing in those closest to Othello in a devastating spiral of suspicion, betrayal and tragedy.

Performed under the open sky, with the ancient stones of Kourion and the Mediterranean as a backdrop, this is Shakespeare as it was always meant to be experienced - raw, powerful and utterly alive.
